4,300 Miles Across America
In June and July we plan to cycle the TransAmerica route across America. The start of the route is on the Pacific coast in Astoria, Oregon and ends on the Atlantic coast in Yorktown, Virginia. To complete the ride, in the planned 51 cycling days, we must average 85miles each day. We will carry everything on our bikes and the ride will be unsupported.
You can follow our progress and suffering on this site which will be updated on a daily basis, providing Internet access is available at our location. Before the ride begins we’ll be adding some posts to show how the preparation and training for the ride is going, so come back again soon!
The ride is to raise money for charity. Our main charity is Cancer Research in memory of our Dad and Chris is also keen to raise money for The National Trust.
